New Maryland State Snakehead Record Set by Damien Cook

On July 5th, 2023, Damien Cook of Lowland Outfitters caught a new record Northern Snakehead. The fish he caught weighed a total of 21.0 pounds, which he believed to be a record setting fish. As of 2023-07-07 this fish was certified by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources as setting a new Maryland state record by a total of 1.1 pounds. Along with this state record, the paperwork is being submitted to IGFA for the all tackle world record. The current all tackle world record is 19 pounds, and 5 ounces.
